If the last dreary days of winter have got you down, start planning for spring with these colorful little gems. Learn how to make quick and easy tassels and pompoms. Turn them into fobs by adding some hardware, and you’ve got a great looking add-on to bags and totes. Hello, sunshine!
You can clip these fobs right onto a bag, a belt or belt loop, hardware, strap – really any place you want to add fun pop of color and texture on clothing or accessories.
To make these kind of fobs you’ll need yarn or embroidery floss, hardware (Dritz swivel hooks and swivel/D-ring sets are shown), wooden beads, a needle and a piece of cardboard.
There are a couple of different simple techniques you can employ to make fobs. Mix and match to make fobs that include tassels, pompoms, beads – or any combination! When you’re done, attach them to your bag or accessory using a swivel hook.

Once your tassels are made, you can string them together, add beads and attach them to a swivel hook to finish your fob.

How to add a macramé hanger to your pompom – this is a clever way to add a bit more detail to your fob. Begin by attaching two strips of yarn to a swivel hook using a mounting knot, and weaving from there following these instructions.
To attach fobs to a bag you can stitch a D-ring or other ring hardware to the bag first, as shown.
