This. Skirt. Get high-style looks with easy DIY techniques.
Here is another piece that fashion blogger Laura Pifer made for NY Fashion Week last month. The beauty of this project is in its simplicity. If you have a basic black skirt that needs an update, simply add a front panel to the side seam to showcase the Dritz grommets. You can also sew a basic black skirt, and then add the front panel. Either way, you’re ready for the big city with high-style looks.
Check out Laura’s complete outfit. The hat and gold accessories are fantastic, but the skirt really seals the deal, don’t you think?
To begin, you’ll mark the placement of your Dritz grommets.
Next you’ll cut the holes for the grommets and insert the top piece of each.
Then you’ll use a hand tool to install each grommet.
Finish installation by hammering. (You can also install this particular grommet style with pliers following these instructions.) And if you’re as much of a grommet/eyelet fanatic as Laura is, check out all of the Dritz grommets/eyelets that are available – there are many styles (sizes/finishes) to choose from!
It’s a solid city look, don’t you think? Jump on over to Laura’s fashion blog, Trash To Couture, for full details on the DIY behind this fab skirt.
