Ready to go in less than 30 minutes.
Another handy accessory to add to your repertoire of DIY activewear: this super simple yoga mat carrier. It literally has two key ingredients: Dritz belting and D-ring hardware. It comes together quickly and has you headed on to your practice in no time.
The stars of this project: Dritz 1″ belting (you’ll need about 3 yards; it’s available in a variety of colors), and D-rings.
The sewing technique: 1) fold the belting over 1 D-ring and pin, 2) sew along the raw edge with a zigzag stitch, 3) fold the belting, 4) pull through the D-ring to create a loop on the other side of the D-ring, 5) the loop should look like this, and 6) wrap it around your yoga mat, and then wrap the belting around the other end of your mat and pin into place; try it on and make sure it’s the right length, trim if needed, then repeat steps for this side. Done!
The result: you’re looking at it – it’s the easiest DIY yoga mat strap you can make.
Now it’s up to you to put it to good use!
