Easy, breezy – a great look for summer.

Lazy days at the beach and pool are ahead – who’s ready!? We are, for sure. And you can bet that this easy refashioning project is on the must-make list. You’ll start with a lightweight scarf and turn it into a flowy kaftan using Dritz eyelets to make an opening for a tie waist. Lots of pool days planned? You better make a few!

The comfy cover-up comes together easily using a scarf, the Dritz eyelets and simple sewing.

Fold your scarf and then use a paper plate and scissors to cut the neck. (Note the scarf shown is 32″ x 72″.)

Find and mark the waistline for the cord tie.

Find the midpoint of the waist and apply a small piece of interfacing to wrong side (this is where you will apply the eyelets.) See more tips for applying them.

Create the casing for the tie waist using netting.

Use a safety pin to pull the drawstring through the casing, and then tie it.
