Check out the expanded color range of Dritz 1″ polypro belting that’s now available. Not familiar with it? Polypro belting is used for making straps and handles for a variety of sewing projects such as totes, accessories and DIY belt making. It is often paired with Dritz bag making hardware.

Dritz polypro belting is offered two different ways. The newest colors are available in a package containing a 1″ wide by 2 yard length of belting. Some colors are also available cut by-the-yard at the cutting table in the sewing notions department (which is ideal for large projects, when longer lengths of belting are needed). Check out the full range of polypro belting to see what your options are by color.

Another belting option is Dritz 1-1/2″ polyester belting. This belting is 100% polyester, but it is so super soft to the touch that you might mistake it for cotton. The new collection includes both solids and stripes. You can use it for all of the same types of projects as you would the 1″ belting (straps, bag making, belts, etc.) – it’s just a bit wider, with a softer hand.

We’ve also got a new hardware collection that goes along with the 1-1/2″ polyester belting. This new collection includes 1-1/2″ D-rings, rectangle rings, swivel hooks and adjustable slide buckles; each is available in black and nickel finishes.

Who says hook & eye fasteners can’t have flair? Typically sewn inside of garments, hook & eye fasteners are usually more function than fashion. Not so with these three new styles. Take a look at this corset belt to get an idea of how you can give these new fasteners the spotlight on garments. See all Dritz styles and pick one that’s right for your sewing project or costume – you’ve got options!

Now that’s snappy. These new Dritz sew-on snaps beg to be seen. Sew them on and let them peek out of bags and clothing – looking great, while still working hard. Use contrasting threads for extra punch. Available in black and white.

Here’s a fan favorite: it’s a new style of Dritz plastic snap pliers and accompanying plastic snaps. So fun on all kinds of sewing projects!

Here’s how to apply these plastic snaps: 1) Poke a hole in your fabric with an awl. 2) Insert prong of cap in hole. 3) Flip over and place socket over the prong of cap. 4) Squeeze with pliers. (Repeat with cap/stud pieces on your other piece of fabric. The stud and socket snap together to join fabrics.)

There are four new round plastic snaps in neutral matte colors – black, white, silver, and gold – a perfect match for most fabrics.

Who doesn’t need a little love or a smile? Brightly shaped snaps are the life of the party: hot pink sunflowers, light pink hearts, red hearts, white hearts and white stars.

Sewing elastics are an important part of the Dritz sewing range, and there are several new styles of elastic addressing current lifestyle and color trends. First up: this plush-back elastic that is ideal for activewear. It’s super soft against your skin! See how to use it to make this sports bralette.

Fold-over elastic continues to be popular, and seven new colors have been added to the line. Fold-over elastic (FOE) is used to encased raw edges of fabric – just fold it over the raw edges and stitch with a zigzag stitch, like we did on the neck and sporty sleeve detail of this T-shirt. Check out all of the FOE colors – we promise you’ll find some that match your fabric! We’ve got lots of project ideas for you, too.

‘Tis the season for metallics! Make a grand entrance wearing something with a metallic waistband and heads will turn. Three new colors have been added: black/gold, black/rose gold and pink/rose gold. If you like the skirt, here’s how to make the pleated one shown, and another elastic waist skirt that uses the clean-finish sewing method.

More metallic elastic …five new colors are available in both 1/4″ and 1″ wide packages. You need these for all kinds of paper crafting, decorations, and garments, too. These snazzy colors are meant to be seen, so are applied to the outside of projects, but they are still functional (example: the elastic on the notebooks above helps keep mementos securely  inside).

New braided elastic styles are also meant to be sewn onto the exterior of garments. Four colors are available, each in 1/4″ and 1/2″ widths. We love the way the elastic looks on this DIY workout top (it was a plain T) – the ruched effect the elastic adds is so cool.

Fabric marking pencils for the win! When we did a sneak peek of this new item in our Instagram feed it was a fan favorite. What’s cool about them? These fabric marking pencils are retractable – just twist the base to keep the tip from breaking.
