No-Sew Projects: Easy-to-Make Father's Day Gifts

No-Sew Projects: Easy-to-Make Father's Day Gifts (Camera Strap)

No-Sew Camera Strap – if dad is a photography fan, he’ll love this camera strap that keeps his camera ready to shoot. The extra D-rings on each side can be used to hang a memory card or extra battery pouch.

How to make it: follow this project tutorial

Variations & products: the strap pictured above uses Dritz D-rings, rivets and hooks (all in brushed brass finish). Create vinyl tabs and use the tabs to house the D-rings and hooks; attach the tabs to the straps with rivets. Watch this video to see how easy they are to apply. The fabric used is a heavy denim.

No-Sew Projects: Easy-to-Make Father's Day Gifts (Wallets)

No-Sew Wallets – who doesn’t love a new wallet? Choose a slimline or folding style.

How to make them: adhere fabric to vinyl with an iron-on adhesive following packaging instructions. Cut and fold to desired size (you have lots of options here – pieces can be cut & layered to make sleeves; add slits for money, cards, etc.). Use Dritz rivets to attach pieces and add a professional finish.

Products: vinyl and fabric of choice, Heat’n Bond® Heavy Duty Iron-On Adhesive, Dritz rivets. Resources for applying the rivets: video and illustrated instruction sheet.

No-Sew Projects: Easy-to-Make Father's Day Gifts (Carabiner Fob)

No-Sew Carabiner Fobs – perfect for housing keys, fobs or ID badges, you can make several of these in about half an hour. The carabiner hardware makes it easy to attach to bags, straps, etc.

How to make them: cut strap material and apply hardware of choice to strap and to each end of strap.

Products & resources: Dritz key fob hardware, carabiner, eyeletsrivets and belting. Get ideas from this fob project

No-Sew Projects: Easy-to-Make Father's Day Gifts (Passport Cover)

No-Sew Passport Cover – ideal for the dad who’s on-the-go.

How to make it: follow this project tutorial.

Variation: for the passport cover shown above, we used vinyl instead of fabric (as in project tutorial), and thus there is no hemming needed. Simply cut the length and width of the vinyl 1/2″ shorter before it’s folded.

So, are you ready to DIY something for dear old dad? We hope these projects have inspired you to make something he’s sure to put to good use – and he’ll think of you each time he does.

Happy crafting!
