Sew South Retreat

Creative retreats give you a chance to get away from the everyday humdrum and spend time focusing on what you love.

Sew South Retreats began from my desire to gather together with women that share my passion for sewing – since 2012 I’ve brought over 175 women together to create, laugh, learn and have fun!

Sew South Retreat

Sew South is special because of the people. The relationships formed at the retreat, the friendships that are made – they’re lasting and true. The small group size enables and encourages conversation and connections.

Folks come from across the country to Charlotte, NC for a girls’ weekend where we sew, eat, play and relax together.

Artists, lawyers, teachers, farmers, mothers, daughters, friends and neighbors share their stories as they stitch. Happy chatter fills the room as strangers become friends and find common ground among fabric, notions and thread.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, sewists are the nicest people around, and those that come to Sew South are especially kind, generous and fun.

Each person that comes to Sew South is special whether it’s their first time or fifth. For me, it’s the relationships at the retreat that make it so meaningful.

During the weekend expert sewists and cautious beginners alike enjoy creative projects and workshops that are fun to make. Open sewing time offers individuals the opportunity to work on special projects brought from home.

Swaps and games, treats and snacks, movies and pajamas give the retreat a sleepover feel. We eat together, play together and create together.

Sew South Retreats are a chance to step away from our daily routines to make creating a priority. Creating, sewing, and making is good for the soul and being around like-minded women inspires and energizes us.

It’s always amazing to look around the room at Sew South and see the talent, creativity and generosity of the women seated before me. Everyone has special gifts, and I am always blessed by their willingness to share them with me and with the others at the retreat.
