Hair ties, bookmarks, goody-filled mason jars. Yes, please!
Do you need to whip up some quick and easy gifts this weekend? Looking to give teachers and classmates gifts that are really special but are still quite practical to knock out in less than an hour? If you’ve got some group gifts on your list, make sure Dritz elastics are on that list, too. Christmas crafting is fun, and the kids can join in as well – let’s get started!
First, you’ll need a selection of Dritz elastics. The styles shown above are Dritz fold-over elastics (both patterned and solids) and Dritz ruffled elastics. All can be found at your favorite fabric or craft retailer, in the sewing department.
|Give the readers on your list a bonus with their books! Adorn books with bookmarks made using any style of elastic – pick colors that match the covers if you want to get really sassy.
You can secure the elastics with a simple hand stitch. Add buttons to the bookmarks, or finish them off with a bow.
|Why buy hair ties when you can make a bunch of them with a package of elastic? Simply cut the elastic and tie it in a knot. If you’re giving a selection of colors to each BFF, wrapping them on cards is a nice finishing touch. Find more hair tie ideas here.
TIP: you can use Dritz Fray Check on the ends of the cut elastic to prevent fraying.
|Who doesn’t love mason jars? Who doesn’t love candy? This is a great gift idea because it is so super easy – just cut the elastic and wrap it around the jars! Again, a simple hand stitch will finish them off.
Load the jars with colorful goodies … now that’s a sweet treat!
Are you inspired? Are you ready to make some easy Christmas crafts? DIY is the way to go, and we hope you have fun making these fun projects for all those special peeps on your list! Merry, merry!
